Carved is a Japanese horror film that is all about child abuse. I actually really enjoyed this movie because not only was it all about bringing awareness to a relevant issue but it focused on the supernatural entity as an idea rather than actual creature. An idea that would infect others causing them to commit hanses acts. I mean, yes, in the end it was a ghost and the introduction to the teacher/son was a tad odd overall but the idea that the more a rumor spreads and grows the more real it becomes I thought was an interesting point. It goes into a lot of fables and the origins of them and how do these stories get started? Well someone tells someone and that person tells another and so on and so forth. I like that which touches on the roots of the topic.
